Beautiful new beetroot recipe … helping to keep you grounded!

7th November 2023 By Lisa Pryce-Jones

I love using seasonal fresh produce and trying some new recipes as we change from one season to another.  I’ve just made a new recipe of Beetroot, Lentil and Mint Salad with fried Halloumi and I have to say it was absolutely delicious so I thought I’d share it with you too.

Did you know that beetroot symbolises passion, love and beauty and is sacred to the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite? In Greek mythology, Aphrodite ate beets to enhance her appeal and this folklore actually has a basis in reality as beets are a natural source of tryptophan and betaine, both substances of which promote a feeling of well-being.

Eating beetroot (along with other similar colour foods) helps to keep both your base chakra (located in the base of your spine and tailbone area) and heart chakra open.  It also helps to ground us to the Earth energies which gives us a sense of stability and safety in our physical body and also assists us to be more focussed too.

If you would like the recipe please find it below. I hope you love it as much as I did.

Meanwhile if you have any delicious new recipes do share them too!

Wishing you a great day.

Our visit to Mont Saint Michel…which was inspired by Archangel Michael

27th October 2023 By Lisa Pryce-Jones

Last week my partner David and I visited the very special island in France where it is said that Archangel Michael, who is regarded as the Prince of God’s army and the leader of God’s army against Satan, appeared to the Bishop of Avranches in the 7th century to build a sanctuary on the island in his name.  It is said that the Bishop ignored his dreams so the Archangel gave him proof that his dreams were a reality by reaching over and pressing a finger on the bishop’s skull.  When the Bishop awoke he found that he had a hole in his head (and not a small one either).  The Bishop then took notice, then designed and built the sanctuary in 709 which was devoted to St Michael.

The island is surrounded by tidal waters and quick sand and today the island is accessed only via bus.  Monks and nuns from Jerusalem now live on the island.

There are several chapels within the walls and the top one contains statues of Archangel Michael along with the remains of the Bishop’s skull which were excavated and confirmed to be the Bishop’s skull with time dating which are now displayed in a beautiful golden case.

Interestingly it is claimed that St. Michael chose this location for the church as it was on this very mount that St. Michael won his mighty victory over the dragon, described in the New Testament’s Book of Revelations (12:7-9):

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not… the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”.

Le Mont Saint Michel is literally on the Normandy border with Brittany and we certainly recommend visiting it.  So very unique and so very special indeed.

Hypnosis Business of the Year (2023) – I can’t believe that I have received this award!

25th October 2023 By Lisa Pryce-Jones

What a lovely surprise to receive the award of Hypnosis Business of the Year (2023).  It was such an honour to have been nominated and recognised by my hypnotherapist peers especially as there are 253 hypnotherapists from all over the world within the group.  Unfortunately I could not be at the awards ceremony event but  I was so delighted to find out afterwards!

The last year has been an exceptional one expanding my skills and knowledge and testing me along the way too!

Amongst my achievements over the last year I have:-

  • Delivered my first Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma course this year which I have loved teaching.  Whilst I am only teaching 2 people I know that they  are going to become excellent therapists.  Next year I plan to teach a bigger group.
  • My partner David and I have visited Japan, the birthplace of Reiki,  (which we firstly visited in 2019 when we completed our Reiki Masters training and returned earlier in 2023 to attend the  Reiki event of the century (celebrating the 100th year of Reiki) and stayed in Japan for 3 weeks!  As part of sharing our journey I wrote 3 articles which were published in the UK Reiki Federation magazine.
  • David and I have taught 32 people Reiki Healing so far (small in person groups due to covid) and we intend to significantly increase our offer moving forward.
  • David and I also visited New Zealand for a month earlier this year where we visited my daughter in the South Island and then went to the North Island for 4 nights where we completed a Maori Healing course called Romiromi.  This was a truly amazing experience which we were absolutely delighted with.
  • Carried out over 200 Spirit Release Therapy sessions (again working with David) following our specialist training with leading SRT expert, the late Dr Terence Palmer.
  • To expand my scientific knowledge of the brain and body I have completed a Level 7 Wellness Practitioner course with a renowned Neuroscientist and I will be doing a further course on helping clients release trauma using his specific scientific approach very soon.  This along with my current method combining hypnotherapy with healing is going to be incredible!
  • We also held our first Mind, Body and Spirit event in our village with a variety of complementary therapists and over 200 people attended many of which had never attended such an event so it was a great awareness raiser!
Along with Hypnotherapy I now offer Spiritual Healing, Reiki, Crystal Healing and Maori Healing and it has been amazing to see the similarities between all healing modalities. All healing modalities access universal healing they simply have slightly methods of doing so.
I feel so very fortunate to be able to help so many people and I thank all of my customers for giving me the opportunity to do so.  It is always such a pleasure to help customers overcome their issues and enable them to embrace and enjoy their life more.
I also have to thank my amazing partner David for absolutely everything that he does.  It took me a long time to find my perfect partner but he was certainly worth the wait  – what an adventure we have had over the last 6 years!  Together anything is possible and I look forward to our plans for 2024!
Please help me by liking and sharing my post.  Together we can all help each other by spreading awareness of how complementary therapies such as Hypnotherapy and Healing can help people overcome their challenges and ultimately enjoy life more.

Today is Menopause Awareness Day

18th October 2023 By Lisa Pryce-Jones

Menopause Awareness Month takes place in  October.  Awareness of this once taboo subject is increasing with various campaigns both in the public domain and with employers too however significant more work needs to be done to help the 51% of the population that experience it.

It is estimated that over 13 million women in the UK are on the menopause spectrum varying from perimenopausal (which means around menopause and refers to the time where the body is naturally transitionally towards the menopause as oestrogen levels fluctuate).  Post menopause is where there have been 12 consecutive months of not having a menstrual period.  Women start the perimenopause at varying ages and for different reasons too but on average signs and symptoms often start from mid 40s onwards.

You may be asking “what does it mean to be perimenopausal or postmenopausal?”.  As oestrogen levels fluctuate symptoms can be significant and life changing too.  All to often, as I help ladies through this challenging time, I hear how they experience overwhelming feelings of being unable to cope doing things they would normally do in their stride, worrying about people judging them, difficulties with sleeping, being aware of others noticing physical symptoms such as hot flushes etc. Ultimately this may even be contributing to ladies leaving their profession, a significant reduction in self-esteem and confidence and impacting upon personal relationships too.

To help yourself there are various things you can do including:-

  • Maintaining a healthy lifestyle
  • Eating healthy fresh foods and avoiding preservatives
  • Refraining from drinking alcohol or reducing your consumption
  • Reducing caffeine
  • Drinking more water throughout the day
  • Setting a sleep schedule and sticking to it every day
  • Carry out some deep breathing exercises at the start, during and at the end of your day (put one hand on your chest and another on your tummy and as you take 10 really deep breaths notice your tummy rise as you inhale and fall as you exhale).
  • Say positive affirmations to yourself throughout your day.
  • Be active each day even if it is just a gentle walk.

Introduce changes into your schedule gradually and remember consistency is key – it takes 28 days for habits to be implemented!  Above all, start to be kinder to yourself and when you need to take things easier do just that.  Allow yourself time to do things that you enjoy whether that is chatting with others, doing a hobby, reading, taking a soak in the bath or planning things to look forward to.

Always have a chat to your GP about any health concerns and be open with your friends and family too. Menopause is inevitable for all of us ladies so lets keep learning about our bodies, supporting each other and reaching out sharing our experiences to help others wherever we can.

Hypnotherapy and Healing are both complementary therapies that can help you through this stage in your life.  If you would like a complimentary consultation to share your specific issues and for me to explain more about how I could help you move from survive to thrive then get in touch now as I would be delighted to help you.

Revolutionary new treatment…are you ready for life changing news!

11th October 2023 By Lisa Pryce-Jones

Scientists have discovered a revolutionary new treatment that makes you live longer.  It enhances your memory and makes you more creative.  It makes you look more attractive.  It keeps you slim and lowers food cravings.  It protects you from cancer and dementia.  It wards off colds and the flu.  It lowers your risk of heart attacks and stroke, not to mention diabetes.  You’ll even be happier, less depressed and less anxious.  Are you interested?
Ifso the treatment, according to proven scientific research carried out by Dr Matthew Walker, is to sleep!  In today’s busy world many people have developed bad habits that impacts upon their sleep detrimentally.  Sleep impacts upon all aspects of life so I thought I would share with you 10 top tips to help you sleep more soundly:-
1.     Establish a consistent sleep schedule
Keeping consistent times for going to and getting up from bed regulates your body’s internal clock which helps you to fall asleep, get up naturally and allows your body to heal itself. Sleeping more at weekends cannot make up for any lost sleep during the week!
2.     Switch off all electronic gadgets one hour before your bed time
All gadgets (computers, phones, tablets etc) emit a blue light which effectively interferes with your body producing the sleep hormone melatonin.  Instead do something which you find relaxing (reading a book, taking a shower/bath, listening to calming music, self-hypnosis, meditation etc).
3.     Make your bedroom a cosy space just for sleeping and imtimacy
Remove any clutter and make your space really calming.
4.     Avoid or reduce caffeine
Any caffeine you consume after lunch time will still be in your system at bedtime so reducing your caffeine, especially from midday can help to significantly improve your sleep!
5.     Be physically active – consistently
Whatever your physical ability keeping a daily activity routine (e.g. going for a walk / gym etc) will help keep your body’s internal clock regulated.
6.     Be present in all activities
Whatever you are doing use all of your senses to keep your mind in the present moment.  When your mind is in the present moment you cannot be anxious as that is in the future.
7.     Eat meals at consistent times and avoid late snacking or eating
Eating late can lead to indigestion and also prevents the body from healing during the sleep state as it is busy digesting food.
8.     Avoid or reduce your alcohol intake
Having a few drinks may feel like it’s helping you to relax but it robs you of much needed healing and sleep.  Consider what else you can do to relax and reduce it gradually by replacing it with a healthier option.  If you feel the need to drink often ask yourself why and consider seeking help to address the underlying cause.
9.      Keep afternoon snoozes short
If you feel the need to nap in the afternoon ensure it is before 3pm and make it short (max 30 mins and use an alarm to wake you).
10.  Snuggle down positively
Before going to bed you may wish to write down anything on your mind. As you snuggle down have the intention of sleeping well, allow any unhelpful thoughts to drift away to the universe, take 10 really deep breaths (breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth) noticing how your body feels.  Think about happy memories, positive things or listen to calming music/hypnosis/meditation.
As a gift I am offering you the chance to listen to my ‘Relaxation and Letting go of worries” hypnosis recording” free of charge taking you to a place in your mind where you can relax, heal and energise.  To access it simply visit my website https://www.hypnotherapyandhealing.co.uk/shop/ and use the coupon code ‘Clients’. If you would like to arrange a time to chat further to find out how I can help you even more just get in touch now.

World Mental Health day…please help by sharing this post

10th October 2023 By Lisa Pryce-Jones

Today is World Mental Health Day.  Together we join millions of other people around the world to raise awareness, show and provide support to each other and to break down barriers and stigma surrounding mental health.

Life is not always an easy journey.  It’s so important in times of need to reach out and find help whether from friends, family or professional support. By being open ourselves, by sharing our experiences and by being receptive to lend a listening ear to others we can truly make a lasting difference.

Reaching out to others in times of need is indeed a sign of our strength – our strength and determination to overcome our challenges and move forward in our life.  I experienced hypnotherapy for the first time over 25 years ago when I was in an abusive marriage.  That professional support enabled me to make significant and life changing decisions which turned out to be the best decisions ever!  With subsequent support from family and friends I have been able to achieve so very much.

So perhaps you can consider today:-

  • What would help you to overcome your current issues to improve your life now and achieve your goals?
  • How can you help those around you more?

Additionally, perhaps you can  consider how you can show yourself, as well as those around you more love, kindness and compassion.  We are very often our harshest critic.  Just by taking time to do things we enjoy can be so empowering.

Together we can all make our world a better place.  Just like a beautiful flower, each petal has its own beauty, let’s help ourselves to reach full bloom!

Please help me by liking and sharing this post spreading as much awareness as possible.
