Empowering you to become healthier and happier
The words confidence and self-esteem are often used interchangeably but whilst they are indeed connected they are different.
Self-confidence relates to how we feel about our own abilities and so will fluctuate depending on the situation. For example, a person may be confident whilst completing their job but struggle to socialise with people or when meeting new people. When experiencing low self-confidence we do not fully trust in our ability to achieve and we doubt our abilities to perform well in certain situations.
Real confidence comes from deep within and a truly confident person will behave and live confidently whilst inspiring confidence in others. Confidence says that we are comfortable in our own skin and it is a sense of self-assurance that follows us wherever we go and strengthens our spirit which is so valuable. In summary genuine confidence allows us and others to achieve the very best.
Self-esteem is how we feel about ourselves. It is our internal view of who and how we are. So when low self-esteem is present it becomes difficult to validate ourselves from within and the struggle then ensues.
A lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem can adversely affect relationships, careers, education and even health. It can hold people back and make life harder than it needs to be.
No person is born feeling inadequate and neither low self-confidence nor low self-esteem are genetically inherited. They are the result of past experiences which have then resulted in feelings of inadequacy, insecurity and self-doubt.
Using a blend of modalities I will help you to let go of those unhelpful thoughts and help you to focus on the present and moving forward in the future more confidently. In this process you can even learn to like and respect yourself and when we do this your self-esteem automatically improves which then makes us more confident. When we are confident in important aspects of our life we begin to expand and improve our overall sense of self-esteem. Each one feeds and enhances the other and both can be worked on simultaneously.
