What is EMT ‘Tapping’?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) – often referred to as ‘Tapping’ is a alternative treatment for dealing with both physical pain and emotional distress. Tapping is often used very effectively to help people with anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
How does tapping work?
EFT ‘Tapping’ is based on Chinese medicine and involves restoring balance within the body’s energy field by focusing attention on the meridian points within the body (which are effectively energy hot spots). It is believed that by restoring the energy balance symptoms (e.g. such as severe anxiety or distress) may be relieved. By ‘tapping’ on certain places within the body it is possible to stimulate the body and effectively reprogram the mind often enabling clients to deal with trauma causing them difficulties in their current life.
EFT ‘Tapping’ simply involves the client whilst sitting in a chair copying the therapist, using their fingertips to apply pressure to select places. This along with other distraction techniques enables the client to reduce their anxiety/distress level considerably in a matter of minutes.
Lisa often incorporates ‘tapping’ into hypnotherapy and healing sessions when dealing with clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, phobias or any trauma. However, should a client just wish to have ‘tapping’ alone then Lisa would be happy to provide this.
