Every day should be World Gratitude Day. We should be thankful for everything that we have in our lives – the food that we eat, the family and friends we have, our jobs etc.. We should never take anything for granted. Each day is special and unique and we can never get today back and that is why we have to live in the present moment.
By keeping our mind in the present moment we keep our self grounded, we enjoy things far more, it helps us maintain a sense of calmness, it stops us worrying needlessly and it stops us becoming angry. Each and every day by feeling more grateful, by showing more gratitude for what we do have, it stops us from focussing on what we don’t have. Because we don’t need a lot of material things although many of us think that we do. Striving for material wealth maybe a goal for many, but remember you can’t take it with you. Make memories, make plenty of cherished memories, enjoy each and everything that you do because tomorrow is not guaranteed and by doing this you really are making the most of life. We are special, we are unique and we have choices. Being grateful is one of those choices. But incorporating gratitude into your daily life will make your life much richer. Try for yourself and see. Nobody else can do it for you.

Gratitude is a little understood concept in the West. It is the basis of life…giving and taking…and being grateful for everything that we have. The basic things in life are so special. They are timeless and you cannot buy them. You are not entitled to them. Each day by being more aware of what you have, what you need and more importantly what you don’t have and don’t need is very empowering and thought provoking too. Perhaps at this important time of year you can take some time to reflect on everything that you can be grateful for in your life and when considering your wish list for 2020 perhaps you can really think about what you truly need to give you greater inner peace and satisfaction.
Time is a healer in many ways and will indeed help many who have had a difficult year but it is also much more than that. Time enables us to reflect, evaluate, take stock and when right take action to move forward in the right direction for us. We don’t know what our future holds, but we can forward plan should we choose to do so. But we must all try to make the most of each moment that we are lucky enough to have. Remember tomorrow is not guaranteed, the past is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today, being present, really is a present so enjoy, embrace and treasure.
Daffodils are only just around the corner so start to plan, build and treasure the seasons, events, experiences and opportunities that lay ahead.
Treasure and be treasured.
Love and be loved.
Show gratitude and receive gratitude.
Value and be valued.

As I meditated earlier these inspiring thoughts came to my mind…I hope you benefit from them too: We should be grateful for everything that we have in our lives. No matter how little we may think that we have we always have our connection with God. One divine source of love and light always there for us in our time of need. Sometimes we have to lose or have little to learn lessons. Not withstanding man made greed of course that is a different matter. We all have challenges to face at various points throughout. Some are indeed far bigger than others. Life does not seem fair at times, it is not meant too. It is supposed to be challenging and testing and for some it is unbearably so. There is so much to be learned in this lifetime. You can work tirelessly and store up all your hard earned pennies and even pounds but what does it truly bring you? You cannot take it with you to the other side so surely it is better to enjoy each and everyday whilst you have good health. Cherish your loved ones with time – as well as building memories you are spreading kindness and love. By you doing this it will continue to those around you and so on and so forth. Before you know it there is a chain reaction of positivity created. None of us know how much time we have on this planet so treat everyday as your last – but do it at the forefront of all your actions.

Kindest regards
