Below is a beautiful poem penned by my lovely and talented client Helen Greenaway who expresses her grief journey so eloquently:-
Grief is something we all have to face
A period in our life
A very dark place It’s always with you, never goes away For some like me I will always want it to stay It shows the love that you once had Makes it ok to just be sad Three years ago my world fell apart Piece by piece it broke my heart I lost my soul mate, my lover, my friend My life had stopped, it had come to an end The tears they flowed by night and by day How was I going to find a way Through the fog and darkness ahead Through the fear and all the dread How to build a brand new life I had become a widow, no longer a wife Bit by bit I grew stronger each day Started to realise there was a way My son needed me My grandson too They alas would help me get through I had to go on I had to be strong The road ahead was going to be long A journey I would have to face To take me to a better place.
