I received these words from spirit this morning and I hope you enjoy them too:
Easter is a time for reflection. We all need time to think about and to evaluate our life, where we are going and where we want to go. We need to consider our values, our sense of responsibility and very often we get side tracked putting what we think are our priorities at the top of our list. However, our priorities are very often other people’s priorities. We can be brainwashed into doing what we think we should be doing and with Easter being a time for reflection it is a good time for everyone to reconsider their priorities. Our families must come first. We work to support our family, to feed our family, to enable us to do things with our family. But when we don’t have our health, we don’t have work and we are not wanted. But our family are there for us, to support us, to nurture us and to love us. Often this lesson comes too late when opportunities have been missed, relationships have been lost or neglected.
Think of a mug – a mug half full. You can think of a mug as either being half full or half empty. We consider it as being half full. We enjoy each mouthful of whatever it is that we are drinking. As we take that sip we taste the flavour, feel the warmth, appreciate having that drink, drink it slowly, cheerily and gratefully. But when we think of the mug as being half empty our thoughts are on what’s gone, what’s in the past, what we have finished and we miss the opportunity to enjoy the remaining half. And it’s exactly the same with life. Each day must be enjoyed. Regardless of where you are on life’s path – your goals, your ambitions …you need to enjoy each and every day. Tomorrow is a gift, today you are here, today you are present and you can enjoy that present moment. No-one can guarantee tomorrow and it is for that very reason that you should do your very best today and whatever that means for you as we are all unique. You should certainly plan for tomorrow. You should certainly have high expectations of ourselves and rise to the challenges. But it should not be at the expense of everything else in your life because when you are surrounded by love you can do so much more. When you are surrounded by love you can do the impossible. That love will help you to climb mountains, overcome huge obstacles.
Perhaps as you enjoy your Easter eggs today as you take each mouthful of chocolate or other treat that you are consuming think about it. Every bite that you take representing your life. Every decision that you make represented by each mouthful eaten. You can choose to eat all of it in one go if you wish or you can eat it over a longer period of time and spread that pleasure over many many more days and have joy each day consuming, focussing and really enjoying it. Which would you prefer to do – be greedy and eat everything in one go or delay it and enjoy it over a much longer period of time? And this is no different with life. Because listening to your heart you know what is good for you, you know what is good for your family and for your world. We all need to contribute and equally we all have values and we have a value. Not everyone is able to achieve the same as other people but that doesn’t make them any less valuable. It is what is inside that really matters. What is inside, just like the chocolate egg, is often a surprise and very often when you open that chocolate egg you find some really wonderful gifts. Whether they are delicious chocolates or whether they are really wonderful attributes of a person – generosity of spirit, humour, affectionate, tactile to name a few. Live well, love more and believe. Believe in yourself, believe in those around you and believe in your ability to contribute to making this world a better place. For this is possible, this is necessary and this is wanted.
Love and light
