We certainly do, and last week we experienced something that felt incredibly special.

David and I travelled to Glastonbury to attend a beautiful event hosted by William Rand, a Reiki Master from Michigan, USA, who also spends time in Hawaii.

Five years ago, we had the privilege of training in Medical Reiki with the incredible Raven Keyes who was renowned in the USA for bringing healing into hospitals, supporting patients before surgery, during surgery as part of the surgical team, and afterwards. Research showed that patients receiving healing often recovered more quickly and required less pain medication. She dedicated her life to helping others and spent part of each year living in Glastonbury with her partner Chris, close to the beautiful Chalice Well, a place they both loved.  When I was at the retreat David enjoyed spending time with Chris visiting various local sites.

As part of our event, David and I along with other Reiki Masters,  walked up Glastonbury Tor. As we approached the top, a magnificent black raven flew overhead and circled us. I immediately turned to David and said, “That’s Raven saying hello.”

After our walk, we stopped for lunch in a nearby farm shop and restaurant. To our amazement, they were selling wine from Three Choirs Vineyard in Gloucestershire. Four years ago, David and I had stayed there and had wonderful memories of both the vineyard and its beautiful wines.

Then we noticed the name of the bottle…

Ravens Hill.

We looked at each other in complete disbelief.

Even more remarkably, we knew that in just a few days time (which is today Tuesday 30th June) it was exactly three years to the day since we had attended Raven’s funeral in Glastonbury. What were the chances that this little restaurant and farm shop would be selling that particular bottle of wine on that very day?

As if that wasn’t enough, while walking back into Glastonbury, William stopped at the bed and breakfast Can you believe the name of this B&B?  It was called Raven Haven.

Three beautiful reminders, all in one day.

When we popped to Chris’ (Raven’s partner) home to say our goodbyes and share the signs,  he simply smiled. He wasn’t surprised at all. He knows that Raven is still very much around, continuing her work in her own unique way.

Whether you see these moments as coincidence, synchronicity or signs from loved ones, they certainly reminded us how important it is to slow down and truly notice the world around us.

After spending five peaceful days on retreat, our minds were quieter, our hearts were open, and perhaps that’s why we were able to recognise these beautiful moments.

Sometimes the universe whispers rather than shouts.

On Wednesday 3rd May one of the most respected Reiki practitioners and teachers passed to spirit.  Raven Keyes lifetime’s work has been to share Reiki across the world and she has been sharing healing energy to patients pre, during and post surgery in the USA for many years.  She was also well known for her role in leading a team of healers to help emergency workers following the twin tower bombings and has written several books including The Healing Power of Reiki, The Healing Light of Angels and most recently Medical Reiki.

Prior to Raven’s passing she was instrumental in the making of a documentary about Reiki and how it can help people’s lives.  We look forward to watching this in due course and seeing the message about how healing can help people spread far and wide.

My partner David Muzzlewhite and I had the pleasure of completing Raven’s Medical Reiki training in 2021 preparing us to work with patients pre, during and post surgery.  She was such a wonderful character, her energy was endless and she was such a very special lady who will be missed by so many.  Whilst she lived between New York and Glastonbury her heart truly belonged in Glastonbury where she passed too.

Rest in peace Raven now in the arms of your angels.  We Reiki Practitioners and Teachers will continue with your work sharing the wonders of Reiki Healing with your help from afar.
